The Real Secret to Leading a 60 Person Team

Why leadership is less about being a superhero and more about empowering extraordinary people

Leading a team of 60 people is no walk in the park. It takes planning, patience, and more than a few late night strategy sessions. Leadership at this scale is complex. You are balancing different personalities, skill sets, and ambitions while making sure the vision of the organization stays intact. Yet here is the truth that often gets overlooked: leaders are not superheroes with flawless management skills.

The success of any leader is only as strong as the team they are surrounded by. At Qormotho, I am privileged to work alongside extraordinary individuals who bring more than just talent to the table. They bring passion, resilience, and a level of commitment that transforms day-to-day operations into something far more impactful.

Every member of the team plays a role in lifting the group higher. They support one another, fill in gaps without being asked, and constantly find ways to turn obstacles into opportunities. This collective spirit is what makes leadership not only possible but deeply rewarding.

Too often, leadership is portrayed as a solo act, one person carrying the weight of the organization. But in reality, leadership is a shared responsibility. When people are empowered to bring their best, the team itself becomes the driving force. The role of the leader is to provide direction, clarity, and trust and then to step back enough for the team to shine.

This has been one of the most valuable lessons in my own journey. I do not lead 60 people by myself. We co-lead together. Each project, each achievement, and each breakthrough comes from a mix of diverse skills and perspectives united by a common purpose. My late-night thinking may shape the strategy, but it is the team that breathes life into it.

For organizations looking to scale, this mindset is critical. Hiring talented individuals is only the first step. The real challenge and the real reward lies in creating an environment where they can thrive. This means fostering trust, encouraging collaboration, and recognizing that people perform at their best when they feel valued and supported.

The strength of Qormotho lies not in individual leadership but in collective excellence. It is what enables us to serve global clients, manage complex projects, and continue growing as a business process outsourcing firm. Leadership at scale is not about doing it all. It is about building a culture where extraordinary people do it together.

So the next time you think of leadership, do not picture one person carrying the load. Picture a team of passionate individuals working in harmony lifting each other up, overcoming challenges, and achieving more than any single person ever could. Because at the end of the day, that is the real secret to leading a 60-person team.
