I spent several years working in internal audit, culminating in my role as Head of Internal Audit at a multi-billion-dollar conglomerate headquartered in Doha. In this position, I saw firsthand how the function adds value across organizations.

The audit department’s mission goes beyond compliance. It pursues excellence, provides data-driven insights, promotes good governance, improves operational efficiency, and helps cultivate a positive corporate culture. Every recommendation, every analysis, every check contributes to the overall health and resilience of the organization.

For me personally, internal audit was a place to sharpen business acumen, master a wide array of skill sets, and reinforce the principles of integrity and professionalism. It was an environment where learning never stops, and where diligence meets impact.
